A few weeks ago I read about Angela’s Backlinks in a blog post titled “Finding places to leave a backlink for your EPN site”. I must have been living under a log–I’d never heard of Angela and her backlinks. I decided to give her service a try. For the low cost of $5/month, cancel at any time, and she promised to send monthly instructions on how to create 30 backlinks on sites that have a PR of 6 or above.

Since December 23, I have created 86 backlinks on PR6+ sites to my “vintage coffee mug” niche site. About 60 of the links are links recommended by Angela. The rest are links that I discovered by myself. When I started, my vintage coffe mug website was about 2 weeks old. It had one obscure keyword that ranked #7 in G’s search results. Today, the site ranks #1 for “vintage starbucks mug” and #10 for my main keyword “vintage coffee mugs”. The site has about 40 other keywords that fall in the top 10 search results. This is interesting. I want to watch how this develops over time and see if there are any negative impacts.

I don’t want to assume the rise in SERPS was totally a result of all the backlinks, but I do know that I am eager to duplicate this with my other sites.

The purpose of this effort is to build traffic for my site. It has started to work. The site is one of my most visited sites and one of my top EPN earners.

  1. You are #4 for “vintage coffee mugs” here. Good job. What are you using for your anchor text? Are you varying it? Are you using the same anchor for all of your links. How many are getting rejected/accepted after you submit.

Thanks for the comment! I’ve used the same anchor text for all of the backlinks: “vintage coffee mugs”. This is the main keyword for my site. Almost all of the backlinks have been placed in forums/bulletinboards on my user profile pages–either in the “signature” or in an “about me” section. Here is a typical example: http://www.hearinglossweb.com/forum/profile.php?id=4018

I haven’t posted any messages to any of the forums.

Oh, do you mean she creates the backlinks for you or she just send instructions. Reason I am asking is that it is always easy to find the instructions, but very difficult to create hundreds of links.

  4. Backlinks may as a matter of fact be a worthwhile aspect and facilitate in off site online marketing. Have you ever witnessed high pr links result in a negative consequence on search engine rankings? And do you know if there is a means to find when Google PPC is better than building links? I personally am part of many websites and even manage a links building service. Even so, I at times see it helpful to use Google PPC over backlink building.
