September Earnings About the Same as August’s
Posted on October 3rd, 2011 by Tony H in UncategorizedIn September, my earnings from EPN were about $4 less than my August earnings.
My average EPC went up 6 cents to $0.21.
Average earnings per site per day was $0.18
Average earnings per site per month was $5.47
Despite adding new websites, I am continuing to see fewer impressions, fewer clicks, and fewer winning bids. My AdSense earnings continue on their downward trend, and I do not expect that to turn around. My Amazon earnings are growing, though, as I have recently started to build Amazon affilate sites.

For October, I am continuing to build new sites and explore new niches. Maybe build a few holiday-related websites to take advantage of the Christmas gift buying frenzy.
How were your earnings last month?
Thanks for reading…I hope you have a good October!

Unfortunately, I think our model is dying. My earnings were substantially lower last month and this month is starting out pretty bad. I guess you can still throw a ton of sites out and hope for the best but traffic mainly will have to come from social places as Google is killing the thin model in my opinion. In addition, it would appear that eBay enabled something on their site to allow most, if not all of the long tails that we once had to be pushed below the fold and in some cases they dominate the entire first page. I’m talking terms like “blue rabbit 44700 new” etc. Super specific searches where we once picked up appear to be dying off. No one has time to manage SEO campaigns around such specific terms. Well, I look forward to your next months updates.
It’s getting hard to rank product specific keywords these days. Big players including search engines are becoming our direct competitors even for long tail keywords. Thick sites seem experiencing the same issue. We need some kind of innovations to beat them in the next around.
Social media traffic proved to be less convertible for product niches. My traffic are mainly coming form Bing/Yahoo. But it takes time.
Hey Tony – in your spreadsheet, can you break down where your sites are being hosted? EG, 134 with ServInt, 83 with HostGator (and if multiples can you tell us how many you are getting comfortably on a shared hosting.)
Thanks!
Also, what (plugin) is giving you the huge keyword list at the bottom of this page?

Hi Mike. That keyword list was generated by the phpBay Pro plugin for Wordpress.
